This study is done in our office or in the hospital setting. A medical assistant or technologist will apply the monitor to the patient. The patient wears the monitor for 24 hours and then returns to the office or if in the hospital the monitor will be removed. During the 24 hours that the patient wears the monitor, the patient is asked to keep a diary. The purpose of the diary is to coordinate symptoms of the patient is experiencing with the printout of the heart beat for the tape inside the holter monitor. The final printout of the 24 hour holter monitor study is interpreted by a cardiologist.
